The Plasmavores were a race of blood-sucking near-Humans. They were commonly criminals, murdering people across the galaxy and drinking their blood.
They required blood to survive as their bodies absorbed a lot of salt. The fact that they were near-Human helped them to hide, as they could blend in with Humans on Earth. When they drank Human blood, they could assimilate its properties into their own systems and fool a Judoon alien scanner, appearing Human.
The fact that "Florence" was not identified as an alien during what was apparently a lengthy hospital stay involving several medical examinations suggests that either the species was either extremely Near-Human or able to modify their biology to fool less sophisticated scanners without the need for assimilated biomatter.
"Florence Finnegan", the Plasmavore on Earth, described herself as a "survivor", perhaps suggesting that, due to criminal associations, Plasmavores are now a rare species in the galaxy.

Chameleons
The Chameleons were an advanced humanoid race. An explosion on their home planet resulted in the loss of their faces and their identities. To save their race from dying out, their scientists developed a process that would allow them to assume the identities of other beings. They went to Earth and established Chameleon Tours at Gatwick Airport as a front for abducting young Humans to their space station. By July 1966 they had acquired 50,000 people, but before they could return to their world they were exposed by the Doctor, who offers to help them find another solution to their problem in exchange for releasing the humans.

Sevateem
The Sevateem was an artificial cultural grouping on the unnamed planet colonised by the Mordee Expedition. The Sevateem referred to themselves as a tribe. The Sevateem were the degenerated remnant of the original expedition's Survey Team. Their development and behaviour were influenced by Xoanon as part of its experiments to contrast physical and intuitive development with mental and psychic development.
The Sevateem had a warrior culture, living in a state of permanent war with their counterparts the Tesh. Men and women were both expected to fight. Crossbows, knives, and poisonous janis thorns were all common weapons. The test of the Horda, a trial by ordeal involving vicious native predators, was also part of their way of life.
The tribe's culture revolved around the worship of Xoanon, who they believed was held captive by the Evil One (a reflection of the computer's damaged psyche). The Evil One supposedly resembled the Doctor's fourth incarnation. The tribe's priest had access to Xoanon through an almost-derelict communications array. Many other relics hinting at the Sevateem's technological origins were visible although the tribe themselves were of course not aware of this.

Eldrad
Eldrad was a Kastrian overlord who, surviving his "execution", set out to reclaim his homeworld, Kastria.
150 million years ago, Eldrad was a brilliant scientist who created a barrier to protect Kastria from the solar winds and new silicon-based bodies to deal with the environment. He then planned to make his people, the Kastrians, into aggressors, which caused a revolt. These Kastrians, led by King Rokon captured him and placed him in an obliteration module detonated by remote control. Though he was almost entirely destroyed, most of one of his hands and his ring survived and somehow made it to primordial Earth.
Eldrad's damaged and petrified hand was found in an English quarry just before it was blown up. Having just arrived on Earth in the TARDIS with the Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith was caught in the blast and found the hand. Eldrad's ring then took control of her mind, forcing her to go to the nearby Nunton Experimental Complex, which had a nuclear reactor. Though the Doctor was able to save Sarah from Eldrad's powers, the ring was also able to influence Dr. Carter and Driscoll, who also tried to help Eldrad regenerate. Eldrad was able to make Driscoll take his hand into the core of the reactor. Eldrad employed the reactor's radiation to completely regenerate into a form modeled off of Sarah, since the ring had imprinted off her.
Eldrad claimed she had been overthrown after a war between his people and another and asked to be brought back to his homeworld. The Doctor agreed to take Eldrad to Kastria, but refused to go back to the past. Eldrad agrees and lead the TARDIS to Kastria. In the Kastrian base, Eldrad is poisoned by an acid harpoon, which starts to break down her system, though regeneration chamber before her structure broke down.
Restored to his true Kastrian form, Eldrad planned to take back Kastria and then the universe until he learnt of the eventual fate of the Kastrians, who led by Rokon had chosen suicide rather than face the small chance of Eldrad returning to leave them. Eldrad decided to return to Earth in the TARDIS and enslave it.
The Doctor was able to steal Eldrad's ring and tried to escape with it. Chasing the Doctor, he tripped over his scarf and into a deep chasm. Though Eldrad now seemed to have died, the Doctor expressed doubt about Eldrad's demise.

Doctor Who live on stage
The plan apparently is to make it an arena tour for the summer holidays, with a heavy emphasis on technology over actors themselves. A formal announcement is expected in the next few weeks.

Terileptils
Terileptils were a space-faring reptilian species well-known for possessing a great love for art and beauty which is matched only by their great love of war. Terileptils possessed a highly sophisticated technology. Dependent on Soliton gas, they perfected atmospheric processors which can synthesize and release needed amounts of the gas into the immediate area, allowing them to function in alien atmospheres lacking this vital component. They are familiar with the fairly common use of vintaric crystals as a means of artificial lighting, and the use of holographic energy barriers. Terileptilan technology makes heavy use of polygrite and highly charged power packs. They do not appear to have knowledge of time travel, but were certainly familiar with the concept. Terileptils are especially noted for their use of androids, as guards, soldiers, and servitors.

Osirians
Osirians, despite their name, looked somewhat like the traditional depictions of Set. They had grey skin, jackal or donkey-like heads with large, square ears and bright green eyes. However, those of high status in the Osirian Court were able to change their appearance, adopting a series of different animal heads according to whichever is in fashion. They had expanded brain-cases and a cerebrum like "a spiral staircase", which means they particularly liked puzzles. Osirians also had a wide variety of advanced psychic powers, including mental and physical projection, mind control and telepathy.
Osirians can live for thousands of years, even without sufficient food or water. Despite this, they do need air to survive and can suffocate. Osirian curry was best served close to absolute zero, which suggests an especially resilient digestive system.
At least one member of the Osirian Court was of an entirely different species to the others: Thoth, who has dominion over time.

Mara
The Mara was an entity which tempted and bullied beings into allowing it to possess them. In physical form, it manifested as a giant snake or as a snake-shaped mark on the arm.
The Mara was an entity created from the evil in the minds of the people of the planet Manussa in the Scrampus system. It and given independent life via the Great Crystal, which the Manussans created in a zero gravity environment. The Mara then founded the Sumaran Empire. (DW: Snakedance) It existed in the minds of its victims and can transfer itself in the form of a tattoo-like mark, to those who yielded to it. It was so evil that it cannot bear the sight of its own reflection. In the Dark Places of the Inside, it manifested as Dukkha, Anatta, and Annica.

Gastropods
The Gastropods, led by Mestor, devoured the vegetation of the planet Jaconda. The Gastropods resembled humanoid slugs. They left a sticky slugs. Unspeaking, they followed the commands of Mestor, leaving one to assume they made only vestigial intelligence. Mestor planned to make the Jaconda's sun go supernova so as to scatter Gastropod eggs into space.
Jaconda, once a verdant paradise, became a despoiled wasteland once the Gastropod appeared and making the Jacondans slaves in their own world. (Whether the Gastropods originated in space or in another part of Jaconda remains un-chronicled.) The Doctor killed Mestor and ended the reign of the Gastropods.

Animus
The Animus was an alien intelligence which landed on the planet Vortis. It could take over any living creature that was in contact with gold and had already taken control of the ant-like Zarbi when the Doctor and his companions arrived on Vortis. One of Vortis' surviving lifeforms, the Optera, referred to the Animus as "Pwodarauk". The Animus manifested itself within an organic, self-healing palace called the Carcinome.
The Animus's true form was revealed, as resembling an octopus with some arachnid features. The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki helped the Menoptra to destroy the Animus using the Menoptra's secret weapon, the Isop-tope. After that, the travelers left the natives of Vortis to resolve their differences peacefully.
Later, the Second Doctor, Jamie and Victoria returned to Vortis and encountered a seed of the Animus which had survived. The Animus was later identified by the Seventh Doctor as the Great Old One Lloigor, said to have first manifested in this universe in the Arcturus system and to have once been worshipped by the inhabitants of a lost city in Burma, which would explain its stated familiarity with Earth.
Eventually, the Animus perished in the Time War, and its Carsenome Walls fell into dust.

Ogrons
Ogrons were a mix of Human and ape traits. It was believed that this mixture of traits was due to climatic changes on their home planet. They were around 7 feet tall, with bowed legs, long arms and barrelled chests. Their faces were flat, with a powerful jaw and small eyes. Ogrons had immense strength, far greater than a Human. Their nervous systems were highly resistant to shock and were protected by muscles, meaning that they could survive multiple bullets. Their only weak spot was the top of their head.
Ogrons were relatively unintelligent, spoke in simple sentences and had obedient, stoic personalities. Despite this, Ogron speech used subsonic frequencies, which meant that were more intelligent than they might appear to be from their audible speech alone.

Rassilon
Rassilon was perhaps the single greatest figure in Time Lord history. Certainly he was the most important figure in the official histories of Gallifrey, and was generally considered the first Time Lord, though some believe that distinction belonged to Omega.
Previous to the creation of the Time Lords, Rassilon headed the Prydonian Chapter. With Omega, he planned to make the star Qqaba go supernova. The energy released would enable the Gallifreyan race to travel through time, to become Time Lords. A saboteur from the future known as Fenris, caused the death of Omega (or so the Gallifreyans believed) but the time controller on Fenris' belt proved useful to him.
A great many important Gallifreyan artefacts bear his name, including the Sash of Rassilon, Rod of Rassilon, Coronet of Rassilon, Harp of Rassilon, Ring of Rassilon, Great Key of Rassilon and the Loom of Rassilon's Mouse. The symbol used as a mark of Time Lord authority is known as the Seal of Rassilon; it appears as a motif in many Time Lord designs.
Seal of Rassilon tattoo
Many rumours also surround Rassilon's death. One stated that the Time Lords had revolted against him and imprisoned him in the Dark Tower in the Death Zone. Borusa, Lord President and the Doctor's former mentor, believed that Rassilon had discovered a form of true immortality beyond the regenerations known to Time Lords. Borusa uncovered and used several artefacts from the Dark Times, including the Coronet of Rassilon (a mind control device) and the Game of Rassilon. The Doctor discovered the truth when his mentor Borusa used him to try and discover Rassilon's secret: Rassilon did indeed discover immortality, but realised it was too dangerous a secret to share. Borusa was condemned to immortality as a living statue, imprisoned immobile in Rassilon's tomb.

Pyroviles
Pyroviles were humanoids with a rock-based form with a magma interior. They were able to shoot flames out of their mouths, which could easily turn a Human to ashes in seconds. They could be killed by sufficient quantities of water, their internal heat being snuffed out and their bodies solidifying. They were tall beings, reaching up to about 10 metres in height and resembling oversized Roman soldiers. Pyroviles came in two varieties - a shorter, easily-destroyed "Foot Soldier" and more advanced, fully grown Pyroviles, which could reach over twice this height.
However, the Pyroviles may only have had this form since they took over the bodies of Humans.
When disintegrated Pyroviles were breathed in by Humans, these particles would slowly transform the humans into Pyroviles themselves. The individuals would slowly turn into rock, until they were entirely stone. The Pyrovilles were also able to enhance the latent psychic powers that Human brains possess.

Wirrn
The Wirrn (or Wirrrn) were a race of Human-sized insects native to the Andromeda Galaxy. The Wirrn were roughly Human-sized, though with an anatomy more like an Earth-based insect. Their head was made of two large golden eyes, long, floppy antennae and a three small mandibles. Underneath the head were larger mandibles which they use to talk. They communicate by squeaking, though Noah was able to speak Human languages. The head in attached to a long thorax which has six long arms attached to it. Though thin, these arms are as strong as a human and can be used for similar tasks. Underneath the thorax is a long abdomen. Wirrn lived in space for most of their life and thus they could reuse their waste products with special enzymes, allowing them to survive without fresh air for years. They would only occasionally land on planets to gather air or food or to breed. They were very tough, being able to survive repeated energy blasts. The Wirrn's most important weakness was their vulnerability to electricity.

Rani
Ushas, later known as The Rani, was a renegade Time Lady. Knowing both of them in youth, she grew into a rival to The Master and opponent to The Doctor. The Rani was the same age as The Doctor. (DW: Time and the Rani) On the planet Gallifrey, at the Academy, she belonged to a clique of ten young people who called themselves the Deca. Apart from the Doctor, her other future enemy Koschei (later The Master) belonged to this group.
Unlike the other members of The Deca, she did not choose to leave Gallifrey but was exiled from the planet after some of her lab mice, as a result of an experiment, grew to enormous size and ate the President's pet cat.

Haemovores
Haemovores were a species of vampire-like humanoids that evolved from Humans. They fed on the blood of Humans, though they could also survive in sea water, which had a similar salt content.
The Haemovores were known to have abnormal strength and power. They had the ability to climb sheer surfaces with ease. They were resistant to bullets and could only be killed by a stake to the heart. The Haemovores had razor-sharp claws which they used to kill people. Haemovores could weld metal with their hands and older Haemovores built up armour made out metal they collected and melted together. The Haemovores could be stopped with strong faith, which would create a psychic barrier. In the presence of the barrier they often respond with ear-splitting shrieks.
The Haemovores communicated with each other telepathically, which could be detected by telepathic Humans. They could also telepathically control Humans to a degree, making them easier to feed on. They were all controlled by Ingiger, who could kill them with a thought

Morestrans
The TARDIS picks up a distress call and the Doctor and Sarah arrive on the planet Zeta Minor. There they discover that a Morestran geological expedition has fallen prey to an unseen killer and only the leader, Professor Sorenson, remains alive.
A military mission from Morestra has also arrived to investigate. The culprit is revealed to be a creature from a universe of antimatter, retaliating for the removal by Sorenson of some antimatter samples from around the pit that acts as an interface between the two universes.
The Morestrans take off in their ship, but it is slowly dragged back towards the planet due to the antimatter on board. Sorenson himself becomes infected by antimatter and gradually transforms into antiman, a monster capable of draining the life from others.
The Morestran commander, the increasingly unhinged Salamar, attacks Sorenson with a radiation source but this only causes him to produce multiple anti-matter versions of himself, which soon overrun the ship. The Doctor finds the original Sorenson, takes him back to the planet in the TARDIS and throws both him and his samples into the pit, fulfilling a bargain he earlier made with the anti-matter creature. Sorenson reappears unharmed, and the Doctor returns him to the Morestran ship, which is now freed of the planet's influence.

Salamander
Ramón Salamander (more usually known simply as Salamander) attempted to take over the planet Earth in the 21st century.
Salamander came from Merida in the Yucatan in Mexico. Both a respected politician and a scientist, Salamander received worldwide acclaim for his invention of Sun Store technology to beam sunlight from Earth orbit in order to help the growth of crops and alleviate global hunger on an overpopulated planet. Secretly, he also committed murders of officials in order to ensure his goal of world domination so he could replace them with other officials that Salamander could trust. With a team of scientists, who he had tricked into working for him, he created "natural" disasters such as volcanos and earthquakes happen at will.
From his palace in the Central European Zone, Salamander attempted the domination of the planet Earth. (During this time, instead of nations, the planet had divided itself into a number of Zones.) Salamander bore an almost exact resemblance to the Doctor, enabling him to impersonate him so as to ensure his downfall.
After he invaded the TARDIS disguised as the Doctor, the real Doctor expelled him into the Time Vortex. Nevertheless, Salamander still survived, helpless in the Vortex.

Mandragora Helix
An energy being, the Mandragora Helix took over Human hosts. The Mandragora Helix originated in the Dark Times.
The Helix slipped inside the Doctor's TARDIS and traveled in it to late 15th century San Martino in Italy. Here it manipulated the local cult of Demnos, led by Hieronymous. It took over the cult's members, transforming them into energy beings able to kill with bolts of plasma.
It manifested again in 1863 China, where the Doctor confronted the Helix without fully understanding it, as the Helix encountered him in an earlier point in the Doctor's personal timeline.
As the the Doctor had earlier predicted, the Mandragora Helix re-appeared in 1990s London, this time exploiting the use of an illegal drug called Mandrake (another name for Mandragora). The Doctor and Ace, with the help of UNIT and Captain Muriel Frost, in particular put a stop to it.
In May 2009, the Helix reappeared in London, using the MorganTec computer systems company to spread its energy. The Doctor and Donna Noble, with help from Wilfred Mott, were able to stop it.

Aggedor
The Aggedors were large, powerful creatures, like bears with the heads of boars. They had bony heads with a single horn on their forehead. They also had powerful tusks and sharp claws. Since they lived in the caves of Peladon, they had poor eyesight and relied more on their sense of smell.
Aggedors could be hypnotised by the use of flashing lights or music. They could also be trained in the normal way.

Black Guardian
The Black Guardian is an anthropomorphic personification of the forces of entropy and chaos, the counterpart of the White Guardian, a personification of order. The two Guardians balance out the forces in the universe, although the Black Guardian seems to desire to upset the balance in favour of chaos and evil while the White Guardian prefers to maintain the status quo. The Guardians both appeared in Season 16 of the programme, where all six serials of that season were linked together in the quest for the Key to Time, an artifact of immense power that would give the wielder supreme power over all existence.

Voord
The Voord, led by Yartek, sought to take control of the Conscience Machine, thus taking control of the planet, but were defeated by the Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara.
The Voords began experimenting with a World Shaper which came from a spacefaring civilization to accelerate time locally and "quick-evolve" themselves. Over time they replaced there body parts with cybernetic parts.
The Doctor, Frobisher, Peri Brown and Jamie McCrimmon attempted to stop the Voord. Jamie sacrificed himself to destroy the World Shaper, this caused a blast that accelerated time so much that Marius that became known as Mondas and the Voord evolved into entirely Cybernetic creatures called Cybermen.

The Valeyard
Other than a cryptic hint as to the Valeyard's origins as the Doctor's future self (or part of his self), we do not know the origins of the Valeyard.
The Valeyard served as the prosecutor during the trial of the Doctor. He presented extracts from the Matrix depicting past events in the Doctor's life as evidence of the Doctor violating the non-interference policy of the Time Lords. Later in the trial he added a charge of genocide against the Vervoids.
The Valeyard had secretly tampered with the Matrix extracts to show the Doctor in the worst possible light and steer the trial to a guilty verdict. The Valeyard was acting on behalf of the High Council to cover up the Ravolox affair. As payment, the Valeyard was to have received the Doctor's remaining regenerations. It was The Master who stepped in and revealed the Valeyard's true origins.
The Valeyard escaped into the Matrix via the Seventh Door, which he opens using a copy of the Key of Rassilon. He is pursued and finally defeated by the Doctor when an explosion the Valeyard had intended to destroy the court is fed back into the Matrix due to the Doctor's tampering.
However, as Inquisitor Darkel dismissed the trial and the Doctor and his companion departed, the Valeyard was also present, disguised as the Keeper of the Matrix.

Family of Blood
The Family of Blood were green, gaseous entities that could inhabit and control Human bodies. Before taking human form, the members of the Family of Blood were kept in small, spherical receptacles. They had very short-lifespans, lasting only 3 months.
The members that were chasing the Doctor were made of a mother, father, son and daughter. While in Human form the Family could telepathically communicate together from a distance. They also had incredible sense of smell, tracking The Doctor where ever the TARDIS took him with his scent. They also had access to the Host's memory, though they had some difficulty pretending to be Humans.
The Family utilised a spacecraft, that held their 'essence' within it prior to them assuming human form. It had a variety of paddle like switches and other devices. The spacecraft could be rendered invisible.
The Family of Blood used energy weapons that fired a green energy that disintegrated humanoid tissue. They were somewhat difficult for humanoids to hold.
The Family also had scarecrow-like soldiers created by the son and placed into various fields. They were composed of straw, their molecules animated via a scientific process. Even after being shot down, they could still reanimate by the command of the Family.
