Ruby Sunday is a fictional character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, created by Russell T Davies and portrayed by Millie Gibson. In the show's fourteenth series, starting with the Christmas special, Ruby serves as the companion to the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa), an incarnation of the alien time traveller known as the Doctor. Ruby Sunday is introduced in the fourteenth series' Christmas Special, "The Church on Ruby Road". Ruby was born on Christmas Eve 2004. Her birth mother abandoned her on the outside of the titular Ruby Road church. She was then fostered and adopted by Carla Sunday. Nineteen years later, Ruby is trying to find information about her birth parents, to no avail. She is also experiencing unnatural bad luck, attracting the Fifteenth Doctor's interest. When her adoptive mother's new foster baby is kidnapped by human-eater goblins, Ruby boards their flying ship and formally meets the Doctor. After deducing that the goblins feed on coincidence and cause Ruby's bad luck, the Doctor and Ruby save the baby. However, the creatures go back in time to kidnap Ruby on her birth day and eat her. The Doctor follows them and saves Ruby. Back to 2023, Ruby understands the Doctor is a time traveller and follows him inside the TARDIS.

The 15th Doctor
The Fifteenth Doctor is the current incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He is portrayed by Rwandan-Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa,[1] who is the first black actor,[2] first African-born actor, first openly queer actor, and fourth Scottish actor to lead the series.[3][4][5][6] His series companion is Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.[7] Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a millennia-old alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, with somewhat unknown origins, who travels in time and space in their TARDIS, frequently with companions. Usually, at the end of each incarnation's life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, their physical appearance and personality changes. However, the Fifteenth Doctor emerged unconventionally, via "bi-generation", in which he split from his predecessor, the Fourteenth Doctor's body, rather than replacing him, allowing both incarnations to co-exist. Gatwa had previously been announced as Jodie Whittaker's successor as the programme's lead, and many reports stated he would play the Fourteenth Doctor and that Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor would regenerate into an incarnation portrayed by Gatwa.[1][8] Upon Whittaker's final appearance as the character, she instead regenerated into a form seemingly similar to the Tenth Doctor. This character, portrayed by David Tennant, was confirmed to be the Fourteenth Doctor, with later clarification that Gatwa would portray the Fifteenth Doctor. His first episode as lead actor aired on 25 December 2023
The 14th Doctor
The Fourteenth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He is portrayed by Scottish actor David Tennant, who previously portrayed the Tenth Doctor and was last seen on the programme in that role in 2013. Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a millennia-old alien who is thought to be a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, with somewhat unknown origins, who travels in time and space in the TARDIS, frequently with companions. Usually at the end of each incarnation's life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and aspects of the personality of the Doctor changes. Tennant's second incarnation is similar to the Tenth Doctor, compassionate and adventurous, but more openly sentimental, holding onto a sense of melancholy and nostalgia. Initially it had been announced that the Thirteenth Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, would be succeeded as the programme's lead by a Fourteenth Doctor portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa.[1][2] Upon Whittaker's final appearance as the character, she instead regenerated into a form similar to that of the Tenth Doctor. This character was confirmed to be the Fourteenth Doctor, with later clarification that Gatwa would portray the Fifteenth Doctor.[3] The Fourteenth Doctor appeared in three special episodes in 2023 commemorating Doctor Who's 60th anniversary, which were executive produced by Russell T Davies, who also returned to the series after having previously executive produced the show from 2005 to 2010.
The 13th Doctor
The Thirteenth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. She is portrayed by English actress Jodie Whittaker, the first woman to portray the character, starring in three series as well as five specials. Whittaker's portrayal of the Thirteenth Doctor has been met with praise from critics. Within the series's narrative, the Doctor is a millennia-old, alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, with somewhat unknown origins, who travels in time and space in their TARDIS, frequently with companions. At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor change. Whittaker's incarnation is a light-hearted adventurer with a passion for building things, placing a high value on friendships and striving for non-violent solutions. Preceded in regeneration by the Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi), she is followed by the Fourteenth Doctor (David Tennant).
Goblins
Goblins were a species of short, green-skinned humanoids with prominent noses and pointy ears. They had a place in human folklore, and the term was sometimes used in general terms to refer to a magical trickster, rather than to a specific trickster; in this figurative sense, the Doctor was sometimes compared to a "goblin". Goblins were fond of kidnapping and eating human children, especially babies. (TV: The Church on Ruby Road)
The Meep
Meeps were diminutive, furry creatures with large ears, a short nose and almond-shaped eyes. By one account, they appeared spherical in shape, while in another they instead appeared more humanoid. Their dense fur concealed a pouch and their blood was green. (COMIC: Doctor Who and the Star Beast) They had white fur and pink feet and hands. They also had two hearts.
