Mutant Spiders

Toxic waste caused spiders in Sheffield to grow to a gigantic size.
There are around 45,000 species of Spiders on Earth.
Spiders taste and smell through their feet. They give out pheromones and really like grime music.
They aren’t responsible for what has happened to them. The spiders were just doing what came naturally.
The Doctor taught her friends to respect the living creatures and preserve life wherever possible.

The Pting wasn’t malicious, but its natural behaviour would have caused the death of everyone on board the Tsuranga.

Graham O’Brien

Graham is a funny, charming and cheeky chap from Essex – he’s a family man and an ex-bus driver, with a sharp sense of humour and a caring, warm nature.
Fact titleFact data
Home Planet:
Earth
Species:
Human
First Appearance:
The Woman Who Fell To Earth
He moved from Essex to Sheffield to live with the love of his life, his wife Grace. While Grace is more brave and outgoing, Graham tends to hang back, asking practical questions and being a bit more cautious.
“Don’t be daft! There’s no such thing as aliens.”
But when the Doctor crash-lands into their lives one rainy night, Graham has no choice but to throw himself into the adventure! He soon steps up to the challenge, helping his new friends to save the day in any way he can – using his approachable nature to get gossip from the local bus drivers, for a start.
Graham might be of a different generation (and might sometimes move at a slower pace than Yaz and Ryan), but he’s brave, selfless and charming too – just like the Doctor herself.

She hasn’t seen Ryan since they attended primary school together, but is pleased to meet him again when he finds a strange, alien-looking object in the woods…
Every day is a learning day!”
Yaz loves her job working as a probationary police officer, but wants to take on bigger challenges, solve trickier problems and experience more – not because she finds life boring, but because she loves adventure and the thrill of the new.
And what could be more thrilling than meeting a Time Lord, saving Sheffield from an alien threat, then shooting off into deep space?
Yaz is fearless and hands-on, ready to assist the Doctor with anything – no matter how extraordinary the situation!

Companions: Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole)

Ryan Sinclair

Ryan is 19 years old, born and bred in Sheffield, who works in a warehouse while studying to become a mechanic. He likes video games and is great with technology, as well as being a social media expert!

First Appearance:
The Woman Who Fell To Earth
Ryan has been raised by his nan, Grace. He’s very close to her and trusts her more than anyone, but he’s still getting used to her relatively new husband, Graham (who he’s not sure about calling ‘Grandad’ just yet).
‘Access revoked! By me! As of now!’
Ryan is dyspraxic, which means he sometimes finds physical co-ordination tricky. This can be quite frustrating on adventures with the Doctor, when he might need to climb a ladder quickly or sprint across a rooftop to escape a dangerous alien!
When he meets the Doctor, Ryan is at first a bit apprehensive of running towards danger… but his curiosity and energy always win out over fear.

Stenza (T’zim-Sha)

he Stenza were a warrior race and the self-proclaimed conquerors of the Nine Systems. Relative to Earth, they had cold skin and could kill humans by placing their hands to the face and freezing them to death. They would then take a tooth from their victims as a trophy, and graft it onto their faces. According to the Doctor's analysis of one of their transport pods, they came from 5,000 galaxies away from Earth and the Milky Way. (TV: The Woman Who Fell to Earth)
They conquered and terrorised several planets in the Twelve Galaxies, forcing the residents to create weapons for them to use. One of these were Remnants who destroyed all life on Desolation save for the flesh-eating microbes in the water. (TV: The Ghost Monument)
In order to decide who would become the next leader of the Stenza, an individual would be given a selected "trophy" to hunt and capture without the use of weapons or assistance. One Stenza called Tzim-Sha travelled to Earth in his pod in order to capture his selected trophy, Karl Wright, so he could become the leader of the Stenza. (TV: The Woman Who Fell to Earth)
